This restaurant is an "old-fashioned" prime rib restaurant. They make great salads but their real claim to fame is their prime rib!
Arrival at the San Franciscan takes you back to the seventies ( this is a good thing ) without the cigarette smoke. It was Friday night and the place was very busy which may account for the slow service. I would probably give it another chance. The food however was very good; from the filet with ortega chilies and cheese... More
I have gone here for years and can't get past the prime rib. I order it every time. The prime rib sandwich is also yummy on the lunch menu with an order of steak fries. Blue cheese dressing- wonderful. The ambiance is definately 60's style with a matching wait staff that have been there for years. The bar is always... More
you would never believe that you can get such a great prime rib from a place like this. when you first walk in and see the bar, you become suspicious. then you go into the lounge, which appears to be a throwback to the 70's, along with the waitress who came right out of a noir movie. but then order... If you like prime rib... this is the place to go in the South Bay. The cuts are generous and the price won't leave you staggering out the door. Also, they serve real hot horseradish as well as the creamed variety. From the outside, you may drive right past the San Franciscan. I did for years until some friends said... More
So i had read the reviews and was prepared. The restaurant has the decor of the 70's, dark, red booths... A friend of ours recommended it so we decided to try it for my husband's birthday. We had a party of 11 and t hey had a room set up for us in the back. The service was great, friendly... More
My second time to this place, first time was two years ago. The prime rib was excellent, there were also steaks, seafoods and Italian foods to choose from. The sourdough was good and warm. Nice decors. Big bar serving all kind of drinks. If in Torrance area, this place is worth a visit.
This is a throw back restaurant opened in 1963, The decor might have last been updated in the 70's. It was absolutely wonderful. Service was excellent from a server who had been there 16 years. Bartender was excellent, mixing cocktails, real cocktails, not a pour of Jack and some coke. This is a Martini, Manhattan, Godfather, sort of joint. I... More
This is an unique restaurant; there are booths along side a big bar. The restaurant is very dark inside. You almost need a flash light to see the menu. However, the food is very good and the service was excellent. I have never seen children in there, so I am not too sure if it is a place to take... More
I expected the outdated decor but never expected the lack of service. The hostess greeted me with "can I help you". Most of the time the greeting is "welcome, how many in your party". Since I was eating alone, I sat at the bar. The bartender was aloof and not accommodating at all. He offered only 1 red wine by... More
