We arrived on July 3rd, hoping for a nice dinner and a decent view...walked in the door, walked up to the hostesss station, a man standing there, I suppose a manager...we tell him " party of 3", he says "I can seat you but not out on the deck"...so okay, no big deal, (at first). They need to change there menu up a bit, but otherwise everything is great. Sit outside! more

This place has a nice ambience and is fantastic if you get a seat by the window. It can be hard to get into, so reservations are a must on the weekends. The food is sort of hit and miss. You are paying for the atmostphere. The staff are very nice and attentive. more

Had a wonderful evening at the Cottonwood Restaurant overlooking Truckee. Our window table was ideal with a beautiful view of the historic downtown. The Venison Tenderloin was delicious and the service was perfect. Wine by the glass was a large pour for a low price...what a value. The Cottonwood has great atmosphere. The bar is cozy during the winter and the deck is wonderful during the summer. Love to hear acoustic music on the deck. The appetizers and salads are so good. The entrees are variable. more
