I've eaten here several times and it seems like the owners care less and less each time. The staff is pretty bad at this point. Many of them look like vagabonds. Most of them have absolutely no concept of customer service, and some are downright rude. Food is average at best. Steaks are ok. Most chef creations are pretty lame.... more
One of the finest examples of a ca. 1900 wooden bar, complete with brass foot rail in the attached SALOON. I went for Happy Hour and had the Buffalo Chicken Sliders, which was quite spicy, with excellent french fries. Pared with a pint of Pug Ryan's microbrew beer, the total was under $10 pre-tip. They also have a full menu... more
Comfortable, traditional, informal mountain decor. Food is a step above. Very good food- a little heavy on the salt in the soup and undercooked red cabbage, when we were there. Friendly, competent staff. We will be back. more
We enjoyed our evening at the Blue Spruce Inn. We'd been a couple years ago with my parents, so we knew the type of food/ atmosphere was good. We did not make a reservation, so we had to wait a while to be seated. Not too long, but I would highly recommend a reservation for weekend dining. We ended up... more
We ate at the Blue Spruce twice - in March of 2007 and 2008. The interior is cozy and nicely decorated in a cabin style. The service was good both times. The food we ordered was well prepared - salads and filets - (although a filet had to be sent back to be cooked further). Desserts were great. Prices were... more
We went here for new years eve with a large group. It was our first time and an enjoyable experience. The food was average, location was great, service was ok. I think it may have been because of our large group that the waiter was having a hard time getting everything out at the appropriate time (my hubby had a... more
On the last night of a family trip to Frisco, CO, we had dinner at the Blue Spruce Inn. In our group, we ordered steak diane, beef tips, roast duckling, prime rib, and a filet. The food was very well prepared and the portions were generous. The side dishes were out of the ordinary, too. The ceasar salad dressing was... more
We were in Breckenridge last week and went to Frisco to eat several times. Our favorite meal was at the Blue Spruce Inn. We were there during "mud season" and a lot of the restaurants are running two for one specials. This turned out to be a great deal for us. I had the salmon oscar and my husband had... more
We were looking for a casual, local place to grab a beer and a burger - we stopped someone on the street who turned out to be a local. She recomended the Blue Spruce. It turned out to be exactly what we were looking for. We ate in the bar rather than the restaurant, which was a little more lively.... more
