Grappa is located on Clear Creek in Golden. We had a wonderful lunch on an early summer day at the Cafe. We sat inside, at a table by the window. We enjoyed the Alpine sandwich , served on fresh from the oven foccaccia and the vegetarian crepe, which was a true delight. The presentation was also special. The gelato was overrated and overpriced. It was $3.75 for a small scoop, which is a lot, IMO. That and the consistency was just ok. I've been to Italy twice and have been spoiled by authentic gelato. My husband and I were happily surprised to find an elegant restaurant with mediterranean food expertly prepared and graciously served while attending a conference at the Colorado School of Mines. This place apparently has replaced Rhapsody in downtown Golden. Chef apparently used to work at a couple casual french restaurants in Aspen/Snowmass area. Hadn't heard of it before, but it popped up when was looking for a French place in lieu of Le Central (although it actually is more Italian with some french influences).
