I own a restaurant in Grand junction and I like 626 have been subject to really bad reviews by other restaurant owners around us, I want to take a moment to say that Everyone at 626 on Rood does a wonderful job, they are one of only a couple places in town that honestly care about their customers experiences, their... more

Stick with the prefab appetizers. The pate is great. Everything else is not worth the $250 price tag. No wonder chains do well in Junction. Damn you ConoCo Phillips I didn't sign on for this!!!! I do not know who would say the winery is better except for the owner. Inaris is marginal also. I guess a real chef would... more

We showed up on a Saturday night without reservations, and in jeans, but were treated graciously and quickly seated and served. I ordered one of the small plates and my spouse went for a substantial meal. Both came quickly and were well prepared and presented. We've been here 5 months and have been hoping to find a good place for... more

I always thought that 626 on Rood was a restaurant that was too 'high class' or 'uppity' for me, but my husband talked me into trying something new. My first experience at 626 was fabulous! The service was 'spot-on' and its hard for me to believe some of the other reviews on here. We were seated right away, and had... more

On a road trip from Nebraska to California, I stayed overnight in Grand Junction and checked the AAA book and TripAdvisor for a dinner recommendation, and found 626 on Rood. Grand Junction doesn't seem to have a fully-developed restaurant scene -- chains, fast food, and casual dining predominate -- so it was great to see that someone was serving ambitious,... more

My husband and I had a date night planned and thought it would be nice to have a few appetizers and some wine at the 626. When we arrived on a Friday evening there were still a few tables available and the hostess seated us right away. Someone brought us water and told us our waitperson would be right with... more

Being from California I definitely enjoy great food. 626 Rood has good food but it is way overpriced for what you receive. I had the lamb and they brought out three tiny lamb shanks and I believe the price was $38. Right across the street at The Winery you can get a whole rack of lamb for $30 or lamb... more

I don't want to waste too much time on this, but when you spend $200.00 on a night out, I would certainly expect better. My Father's dish consisted of an over cooked steak and two different sides of potato, no vegetable or other alternative. My appetizer had clearly been left under the warmer for an extended period of time which... more

My husband and I love 626. We go there both for special occasions as well as at least weekly for dinner. We always take our out-of-town guests...also special fun meals with friends, like our "Hamburger Society" at lunch. Theo's menu changes seasonally. The fresh fish (flown in daily) is sometimes prepared with wonderful, gourmet sauces, other times it is more... more

I have visited Grand Junction on many occasions and found the restuarant scene pretty mundane. Not any longer! 626 is one of our few great resturant finds in small town America. Lovely atomosphere but what really shines are the great "small plates". From the cold avocado with proscuitto to the dessert sampler, we were both delighted. The evening we were... more
