My wife and I recently attended the Iron Chef Re-Deux Dinner at the Butcher's Table and it was fantastic. Chef Kurt Boucher presented the same 7 course meal (plus paired wines) that he prepared for the Iron Chef competion on the Food Channel. Every course contained Artic Char and before we arrived I thought that I would be sick of... more

Our meal was unremarkable. Good, I suppose, but not the fine experience the website and these reviews led me to expect. It seemed like the kitchen was just going through the motions. The salad was a tired, limp iceberg chunk with not quite fresh garnishes. The coq au vin was a variation that didn't click, and the chicken was dry.... more

The Butchers Table is better than most Denver restaurants. We returned there solely to order the maple vinaigrette table salad, loaded with candied walnuts, dried cranberries and an outstanding smoky blue cheese. Chef Kurt has an equisite seasonal menu which is always well worth the trip. My tender rich lamb presented over tzatziki sauce after an appetizer of baked fois... more

I came into town and found this little gem. Chef Kurt is unforgettable in this small town. I enjoyed the Prix-Fixe dinner for $24.95....3 courses for that little. The portions were plenty and I was a vrery happy camper. I ate the Baby Wedge with the Coq Au Vin and had a slice of warm pecan pie a la mode... more

Booked reservations for The Butcher's Table with great expectations. Decor is Colorado rustic; service was competent, and Chef Boucher and staff worked professionally from an open kitchen. The food met my guests' expectations with perfectly prepared foie gras, gnocchi, striped bass, and fillet mignon; a minor set back was the Molten Chocolate Cake which was overcooked and missing the "molten"...... more

During a recent trip to Salida, we enjoyed eating at The Butcher's Table two evenings in a row. Both nights the food was outstanding, as was the service. The prix fixe menu is a bargin and the wine selection is good and reasonably priced. My only concern is that, generally, Salida is not a fancy restaurant town. This may account... more

The atmosphere in this historic bldg. was cozy, warm and romantic. Excellent staff/service. Chef Kurt's entree of Beef Tenderloin was juicy/melt-in-your mouth delicious. The mashed potatoes were real with actual bits of potato. Like my grandmother use to make. The asparagus was cooked to perfection/slightly crisp. For "Starters" we enjoyed Kurt's Scallops. They were succulent and flavorful! After we had... more

Besides the excellent food and service, we finally found white table towels in the USA! As Europeans (from Portugal), we very much appreciated that detail. Thanks for a great gastronomic experience! (twice in a week) more

Wonderful place to spend an eveing with friends, loved ones, or even alone for an incredible meal. A very laid back environment, felt good to walk into a warm restaurant on a cold day after being on the slopes. Being in the heart of downtown Salida helps to keep this place grounded and never uppity. The red and white wine... more
