The food was quite wonderful at The Left Bank. We had a lovely table by the window looking over the river and pretty lights. Staff was attentive and right on the mark all evening. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant. more

The Left Bank was decent- the food was excellent however it is pricey. I would not really call this a 'romantic' restaurant since the room is busy and loud. The service was excellent- the only bad part is when we arrived, the hostess did ignore us for 10 minutes before seating us. Once we sat, the rest of the time... more

This is a fantastic restaurant! If I couldn't ski, I would still come to Vail for this place! True, the interior is dated and the change in ownership was scary - would my favorite dishes still be as good? Fortunately.... yes! Sometimes, we can hardly wait for the end of the day so we can go out to eat in... more

I have been dining at The Left Bank since it was run by French chef, Luc Meyers, and now French chef Jean Michel has taken the food to an entirely new level, something I had not thought possible. The lobster bisque, the pepper steak, and the pastry-topped tomato soup have always been favorites, and the beautiful wine list never fails... more

We have dined at The Left Bank for over 20 years. The lobster bisque is a favorite. The portions are plentiful and worth every penny. I tip my hat to the french chef. Do not let the dated interior keep you away. Ask for a window seat so you can see the river while you enjoy the chefs' carefully prepared... more

We have dined in many different restaurants in many different countries. This was one of the best dining out experiences we have had in the US. We were starting to loose faith in the American dining experience. The Left Bank helped soothe our craving. The food was very good and ingredients used simple and fresh. The wine selection was great.... more

I dined here recently with a business colleague in Vail, a sommelier who I wanted to thank for a large transaction. She had tired of overly precious menus, so I wanted a choice of traditional dishes with sophisticated wine options. Despite our arrival late on what was obviously a full night, we were treated warmly. My client went out of... more

I wished we had read the reviews written by previous visitors before going to the LeftBank on 27th February. This was the worst meal we have ever had. My partner and I eat out a lot and don't mind spending money on good food - this was an expensive and upsetting experience. Like previous reviewers we turned up and were... more

We ate at the Left Bank last night and after hearing it was one of the best restaurants in Vail the whole experience was a disappointment. We had reserved our table but on arrival after speaking to the woman on reception we were totally ignored for five minutes- this despite the fact that two staff were standing at the entrance... more

This restaurant was originally owned by one French chef, who brought in another French chef to share the menu design and cooking and also run the restaurant. We didn't meet either, and our waiter had difficulty pronouncing French words, but that didn't affect the quality of the meal or service. Half the menu has classic, rich French dishes created by... more
