If you like seafood, you'll love Chowder Pot IV. The service is excellent, and they now have call ahead seating, which is very much appreciated. The best part is the great food. The salads are good, the bread is delicious, and the meals are out of this world. They also have fun dinner shows, for those who are interested. more
Great restaurant! I've had two business trips to Hartford and have eaten at the Chowder Pot both times and loved it. My boss has been going there for years. I had not been to the Chowder Pot in 10 years and was worried after reading some of the reviews on this site-- but really wanted some New England seafood. I was happy that it was just as good as when I dined there 10 years ago. I ordered one of the specials. The food quality and service was superior.... more
The food is decent, the patrons are horrifying, and from what I know much of the staff is on drugs. more
I have eaten here many times over the past 10 years, and it generally is above average when it comes to seafood.
