I've been a resident along the shoreline for most my life, but for some reason I had never been to cafe Allegre until a couple months ago. I had known of it when it was under different ownership and under different names. I had the preconceived notion that it was just another overpriced over-rated restaurant that only got it's business... more

When i came the first time to dine in i was shocked at how beautiful the building is in and out. I was promptly greated by the matrie D who immediatly took us to our table. We had an absolutely wonderful lunch at Cafe Allegre. The service was great. The Veal Milanese that I ordered was a portion larger than some dinner portions at other restaurants, and excellent. The crab cakes my husband ordered were excellent as well. We'd stop back again any time we're in that part of CT. more
