The appetizers are great. The mussel frites and bacon scallops are out of this world. The dinner selections are nice as well. Tonight. we had the lamb osso bucco and salmon, both of which where very nicely cooked, especially the lamb. The wine selections weren't extensive but a nice variety. Every time we go the service is always nice and... more

The words uptight, pretentious and ridiculous come to mind. The menu is of obscure items and as a whole it is not cohesive. If you are looking for a complete meal you'd have better luck at McDonalds. The bar is stocked with empty liquor bottles to give the illusion that it is full. If you order a Bombay Sapphire martini... more

Dinner was such a disappointment. It is such a lovely venue, how could they screw it up so badly? The menu was overpriced. One meal was overcooked. One was so bad it was inedible and sent back to the kitchen. The waitress was impossible to find, eventhough the restaurant was empty. When she did appear, she complaioned about addresing the... more

As two diners who eat out in the Farmington Valley, Hartford area at least twice a week, Amelia's stands out for its consistent good meals, great martinis and nicely priced wine list. They change their menu seasonally so that they might have a delectible salmon with crusty potato topping in a warm gazpacho sauce in the summer or a wonderful... more

There are many restaurants with a nice atmosphere, which Amelia's has - nice decor, proper lighting, not too noisy. Our waitress was attentive, almost too much so. She came over to ask if we wanted a drink after we were sitting for a few minutes, but then proceeded to ask us if we were ready to order about 5 times... more

I went to have dinner at Amelia's for my birthday this past weekend. We stayed at a bed and breakfast in Granby, CT and the owners recommended this place. Even past guests left messages and said Amelia's was great. So we went there on Friday 1/2/09. The restaurant was not busy at all. The environment and decor was very nice... more

Food was dry and horrible; service was equally bad; stopped the background music in the middle of the brunch. Too pricey. Had a much better brunch experience in Avon Old Farms Hotel at a lower price. Hope evening menus are better. more

An open airy restaurant concept was nicely decorated but the compliments stop there. First off it was so loud we couldn't hold a conversation amongst ourselves without repeating "What!" a thousand times. The service was extinct. The food was overcooked, fatty and overall gagging. The wines were priced so high that i could have gone down the street to the... more

One of our favorite places - brunch is great (get a made to order omlet, includes a mimosa or bloody mary!) and the menu is unique and interesting, and YUMMY! The crab cakes are fabulous, as is the mac n cheese and always save room for dessert - they are amazing! more

The food was out and out bad, bordering from tasteless to offensive. The cocktails, however, were pleasing. more
