This small Mexican restaurant in Stonington,Ct. is a real jewel. It only seats around 28 inside including the bar and more seats outside. We decided to eat at the bar.The barmaid was very knowledgable about the many different types of Tequila and she was very happy to answer any questions about the food.We had a braised beef burrito and some chicken enchiladas... My mom and I go to Milagro every chance we can get, usually before or after a stay at the beach in Rhode Island. Food is fantastic - not at all "chain" Mexican (thank goodness!). Inventive, authentic, fresh, just wonderful. The food feels incredibly handcrafted. It's a cozy and beautiful small space with terrific staff (the chef/owner is often out... More
Considering this New England location it seems pleasantly out of place to have a small Mexican bistro here. The space is quite small but they cope as best they can. Their salads are really great, a light cilantro dressing - try the chicken topped salad. Soups are varied and again excellent. Atun cerviche is refreshing. Don't expect Tex Mex, they... More
Loved the food and atmosphere at this little spot! My husband and I shared a guacamole, it was great! I got the chicken quesadilla and my husband got the baja fish taco. Both were exceptional and the prices were great too. Also, awesome margaritas. Recommend this place!
This is not your typical bland American Mexican place where things are usually covered under red sauce and cheese. Here we found a taste of Mexico (we were in Mexico for 4 weeks last year so we know). The Lamb soup, tuna cerviche, mushroom enchilada and Stonington Scallops were spot on. The guacamole was sent back because it was cold... More
Stopped in today for the first time for lunch. So glad that I did. Started with their guacamole & chips which are out of this world. Homemade guacamole and freshly made chips--that were still HOT! Chicken quesadilla was fantastic. The chicken was shredded to perfection, salsa was perfectly seasoned and fresh. Food was great. Service on the other hand could... More
Wonderful Mexican cuisine with fresh ingredients, great drink selection. Very tiny. One waittress at lunch to take orders and tend bar for all, so service is not especially quick. But food is delicious. And it's located on a very quaint block that is lovely to browse along.
