I am bemused by the bad reviews here! We stayed in Crystal River to swim with the manatees and ate here for dinner and breakfast and had two fantasic meals served by a very helpful and entertaining waitress and spent some time with the very charismatic William Bunch. This is down south country food. If you don't like that, you might not like this. We liked it. I would give it 3.5 stars but can't so I've given it and "average" 3 star rating. I would have gone up just a little but not to the 4 star rating which is "very good." It isn't going to win... more
If you don't like real southern food (fried okra, catfish, etc.) this may not to be to your taste, but if you love down home cooking, this place is great. The prices are very reasonable. The owner is the former chef of Plantation Inn and knows his way around the kitchen VERY well. more
Down home southern Florida Cracker cooking! Atmosphere is ok as it's on the side of a busy Highway. LOVE the Coconut Shrimp and the Fried Chicken. Nobody makes fried chicken as well as William Bunch! Great place if you're not watching calories. more
I cant even give this place a rating! Its by far the worst restaurant I have ever eaten in or have ever been in, and Ive been in some real dives. I have eaten at Oysters many times and the food has always been excellent. I really recommend the grouper sandwich (when available the gouper is from local fisherman) and the fried chicken.
