My husband and I were vacationing in the Keys from NYC and decided to try Takara after reading some of the good reviews. We were extremely disappointed!! We ate at several places during our stay in Marathon and didn't have a bad experience at any of them. Takara, however, was our favorite by far. The food was outstanding and Sue is a sweetie. Best crispy duck ever!!!...will cook anything on their menu specifically to your wants and needs. Real cheap compared to its actual value. A 5,000 out of 100/must try right now!!! more

While on vacation here in marathon for 2 weeks we visited Takara 5 times total. 4 times for dinner and 1 time for lunch. (they're open for lunch 11am-2pm). This was definatelly our favourite place to eat here. We tried a handfull different dishes and all of them were awesome. We love thai food, but realy enjoyed GOOD thai food.... more

Takara is a tiny place with island-typical pseudo-wood table & vinyl chairs. The atmosphere is definitely relaxed and they offer a range of sushi and Thai standards.
