The restaurant is in the middle of the "measiest" areas of Ocean drive, which my friend described as the human zoo.... However the restaurant itself is pleasent, had nice live music (when you could hear it from the car stereos full blast passing by), and the food EXCELLENT. We had a tuna carpacio to start with which was very good,... more

Had a wonderful experience here on a beautiful night in January. The Pan Seared Diver Scallops with Hearts of Palm started the dinner off well. Sesame Seared Ahi Tuna was fantastic. The heat lamps kept the chill away and people watching in South Beach is always fantastic. Service was attentive, but not overbearing. Would recommend A Fish Called Avalon for... more

Location was great, food was amazing and atomophere was fantastic! I know a few of these reviews say it was expensive, but not any more expensive than the other restaurants on the strip, with a better atomosphere. There is live music, classy setting and great staff. Try the crabcake and snapper! more

Pricey fish meal. Five diamond, must have been before new chef took over. New chef has alot of credits, but why has he moved so much, maybe his foods are not up to snuff. Ate there on Saturday night Sept 6th. Wife had five large shrimp on cheese grits, I had grouper. Tasted alright but have had better. Paid for... more

I’ve had several dinners at this oceanside restaurant over the last few years and have never been disappointed, so I was happy to recommend it when a group of colleagues wanted “a nice dinner in Miami.” A Fish Called Avalon was on its game the evening we were there, and all of us left feeling it had been an evening... more

My family of four ate here on New Year's day and everything was excellent. We had grouper, sword fish, and snapper, and they were all very good. The bang bang shrimp and ceasar salad were also good. Service was top notch. This restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel concierge. more

well worth the effort, the food was some of the best sea food i've ever had, the scollops where cooked to perfection and the swordfish is to die for, must try th keylime pie also. i did find eating outside at night a little off putting as the strong sea breeze cooled the food quickly but if you eat fast... more

Nothing "wrong" with this restaurant, but at $50 pp, without wine, I expected more. I also felt like we were being scammed, as they wouldn't disclose the prices of the specials. The king crab legs appetizer, for instance, was $30pp. The appetitzer platter which they were pushing on us would have been over $150 (for 10 people). As it was,... more

I researched dining in Miami for weeks and all reviews I read were good, I was so looking forward to this place, only to be sadly dissapointed. The food was just ok. I enjoy seafood and work in a seafood house, this was no big deal and did'nt seem all that fresh. However the service is horrible, we had to... more
