Honestly, I am not sure how Rustler's Reef could ever be compared to Longhorn...TOTALLY different restaurant experiences. People go to Rustler's Reef for cold beer and smoked oysters - not salad, steak, or atmosphere. Service was good. Staff was friendly. Salad was okay. Didn't compare to a Longhorn salad. One of my favorite salads is Longhorn's Southern Fried Chicken Salad with bacon honey mustard dressing. I haven't eaten there since 1993. It was my first wedding anniversary and we ordered the Filet. I sent it back three times because it was cold each time. Visiting Panama City for a conference for work. Tried to call the restaurant to check for prices and the phone call was never answered. Made a second attempt to call the restaurant and the person I spoke to was extremely rude. He told me to call back in 5 minutes because he was on the line with another employee. Didn't... more

Always loved to eat here. This visit was not good. They normaly have the best smoked oysters in town for the greatest price. Due to the hurricane the oysters are not loacal and are small. Prices have gone up as well. Service is still good. Old local hangout, away from beaches. Worth a try in the spring if the oysters... more
