I'm from Minneapolis, with alot of great Mexican Restaurants around the suburbs and in the city. When I first came to Treasure Island about 2 years ago, my friend and I discovered the V.I.P. and were totally taken in by the food and the locals. Great food, friendly wait staff, our drink was always full. I never witnessed any "attitude"... more

This is a mad little bar where the staff are always rushing around in a frenzy regardless of how busy it is. Each time I've been in it has been busy, probably because it serves good mexican food and is good value. I could live on the wet burrito platter with chicken, I also love the chips and salsa. My... more

I have been to VIP at least 10 times. 7 of these times I left saying why would I go back and be subjected to abuse at the hands of a server... the staff all seem to be drama queens rushed off their feet by the "crush of patrons", busy or not, even tho they have all obviously worked there... more

We have been going to Treasure Island for the last 12 years or so and always make it a point to go to VIP. We love mexican food and have tried many restaurants over the years. There are only 3 mexican restaurants we will even consider going to. Two are here in Michigan and the other is the VIP. It... more

I had two people tell me this was a great place so I thought I'd check it out. First of all the guy cleaning off the tables got an attitude with me when i asked if we could have the table he was cleaning off. Then the waitress was rude from the beginning. She was acting bothered when we asked... more

How could i have forgotten this place when writing my reviews!? It was possibly our fave, except not located on the beach. No, its not gourmet but we had a blast there - had a great server (oooh, i forget his name, sorry!) and we loved the food. To US, it tasted authentic and we've had mexican all over America... more

If you can get past the dark cheesy 70's lounge look, the Barbie "cougars" behind the bar and service borderlining on bad, head to the back of the building. You'll see a few tables. This is where you sit to get the best Mexican food ever! My husband and I travel from Jacksonville to spend a week every year at... more

Looking for a good place to find something without seafood? This is it. This place is full of locals, which is usually a good indication of where the best food is. You won't find it by accident, it's easy to miss in the shopping center, but worth looking for. I have recommended the VIP to many travelers and they have... more

I had the steak chimichanga and my husband had the Chicago burroito. Had enough for lunch or dinner the next day. The margarita was generous and not watered down. The bar had local flavor that we enjoyed. There is also an outdoor patio. more
