Excellent food, excellent service! Upon arrival at Cafe La Cave, I found the valet service to be very accomodating and a wonderfully kind maitre d' to greet you at the door. I have been going to Cafe La Cave for years- and enjoyed it until Oct. 6 2008- My son valet parked his car and they do not give you the choice so those of you with nice cars- be forewarned- The valet driver totaled my son's car by backing it into the building. This restaurant has maintained it's exellence through all it's years in business. I have fond memories of dining here with my family throughout the years, and every time it has been wonderful. I thought the prices were better than the area steakhouses. Great wine list and they have a wine steward on staff to help you pick the right bottle for your meal. Definitely going back and bringing friends more

I attended a wedding that was held here. Everything from the time we pulled in, and the vallet took the car, until we left was amazing. Been here twice on visits to Chicago and have been impressed both times. The first visit saw us encounter some drunks at the bar but the staff managed to deal with them and from then on the meal was first class. This is a very upscale restaurant with a couple of different sections. We ate in the bar section that looks like a cave. Excellent ambiance for a romantic evening. The lobster/asparagus appetizer was great, and my husbands "colossal ribeye" (26 oz!) was cooked to a perfect medium rare.
