I don't know if there are two Oceaniques in Evanston, but I must have gone to the wrong one. Things started off badly: my date and I were seated in a table that was hard to get into and out of. We were then left alone for a very long time before we were asked about anything, let alone drinks.... more
Upscale with amazing service and food. Classy decor. Cozy and quiet. Good for romance or a small group of friends. more

oceanique has continued to maintain all that i remember when i lived there over 10 years ago. the bar area is quaint, the wine selections ample, the food, special and the service impeccable. more
My wife, daughter and I ate at Oceanique Friday evening, Nov 2, 2007. The service was excellent ... highest ratio of servers to customers I've seen in a long time. Service was quick, although I did have to wait 5 minutes for my second decaf espresso. The portions were small, typical of what I would expect in a French restaurant.... more
Located south of downtown Evanston, Oceanique is a little off the beaten path, but in my book there isn't a better option in town for an upscale night out. Not surprisingly from the name, seafood is the specialty but there are plenty of alternatives on the menu for those looking for some red meat. I went with the filet mignon... more
