I've been enjoying Oyama for a few years now. The food is fantastic. The staff is even better. The man in charge is Darren. A wonderful guy. He remebered my face after the first time in! They have a huge selection and will help a novice pick and choose. I would suggest it to anyone more

This is our favorite place to go for sushi in Iowa City. We have been frequenting Oyama for a number of years and have NEVER been disappointed! Not only is the food fresh, served attractively, prices are reasonable, atmosphere very pleasant and excellent service - the owner treats you like family. The sweetheart roll is my new favorite. My sister & I went here & tried a ton of different things & really didn't care for any of them. I would definitely not go back. The atmosphere is neat but that is the only good thing about this restaurant. If you want great sushi go to Shokai in Burlington, IA. more

We visit Oyama regularly. They have a large variety of different sushi rolls and the prices are very reasonable. The Hawaii Roll is very tasty and a good deal. I took a sushi first-timer, and business collegue, here because of another reviewer's comments. Sure enough, Darren was so friendly and helpful -he made the experience a great one. Fantastic quality fish - rivals some of the best sashimi in Chicago! I will certainly be back whenever my travels take me to Iowa City. What a nice surprise. 9/10! more
