Everything here is good. The scallops (and I'm from MD so that's a high compliment), salads, steaks and appetizers are yum. I wasn't very pleased with the crab cakes, but not too bad. Sal's seems to have dropped "Italian chophouse" from its name, which is appropriate because there are relatively few Italian dishes on the menu. It's great to find something other than a national chain when traveling. We were in Lexington for the Keenland Horse Racing this weekend and happened to stop at Sal's while looking for a steak house. We always enjoy dining at Sal's. Friendly efficient service, one of the best bartenders in town, and though the food may not be classic Italian, it's excellent. The ravioli with crab sauce is amazing, and the spinach side dish is worth adding to any dinner or substituting on any plate. Portions are huge, so there's always enough to take away... more
