I eat here once a week--this is clearly the best cajun/creole in Lexington. Very reasonable prices, huge portions, funky atmosphere... Maque Choux is the star, but the Jambalaya is great, and feel free to try one of the rotating specials. Also, you can split a dish--try two entrees. Great way to sample multiple dishes! more
I'm from Cajun Louisiana, so I have my own biases--turkey jambalaya? and it wasn't seasoned well, needed help from tabasco (which I hate doing). more
Good, cheap Cajun food. Rotating menu. Try the Jambalaya and Maque Choux. They usually have a good couple vegetarian options. more

Really GREAT cajun food. Everything tastes great from the jam to white chili. Just don't work for the owners. I know 3 people who have and all said it was horrible. more
The only lacking part of Ya Ya is that it's located on the hottest, most clogged part of Broadway. Otherwise, the food is financially affordable and palatably marvelous. Certainly a favorite. more
Gumbo Ya Ya is always pleasing to my palette. Their menu changes everyday so its always a welcome variety. I like that you can get a split plate and try two different entrees. Their food is generally on the hot and spicy side but that is how I like it. Their dailey menu is posted on their website at www.gumboyayaky.com.... more

Nothing fancy; it was bland enough that my little brother loved it (Eastern Kentucky kid for whom ketchup is an adventure). But the prices are low and its not a bad meal. more
