I haven't been to the New Vera's as of yet but it is no longer a waterfront restaurant on Lake Ponchartrain. They have reopen in Slidell in the vacinity of the Mall on Gause Blvd more

We had a GREAT lunch at Vera's after taking the Honey Island Swamp Tour. Vera's is what I think of as a classic fried seafood joint. It sits on stilts over Lake Ponchartrain at the end of the road.
