My husband and i came here for the first time in 1999, we have returned 4 more times we have brought our Harley group up here and they were amazed at how good the food was and the scenery. To sit on the deck and watch the sunset is so peacefully. I brought my sister here after she was finished... more

It was full of local color, local famalies and friends were greeting eachother by name all night.. the view from the deck is awsome especially right at sunset ... The Lobsta was wicked good.. Shaws is everything you want and expect a good lobster house to be: fresh bugs, draft beer, friendly service, and a deck overlooking the bay. Visit New Harbor, go on Hardy's Puffin Watch cruise, and enjoy a delicious lobstah! more

My GF and I stopped here by recommendation of other locals and we were not dissappointed. Having never had a lobster roll before, I didnt know what to expect besides lobster. It was fresh, tasty, the roll was fresh and the cole slaw was perfect fit. Minimal selection of beers but thats okay. The view is like no other and the... more

this is the best place to have a beer and meal, the atmosphere is fantastic and the food is great. i was reading some of the complaints, and to that i have to say, don't order salad or lazy lobster, or that kind of "city food". stick with the fresh seafood, the lobster, the burgers, the clams. my favorite is... more

Whole lobster and 2 sides for $15. Sits right on the wharf... all plastic utensils and dishes, roll of paper towels on the table... fun! :) My husband had the fried shrimp and loved them. I opted for the lobster newburg. GREAT food and just a cool local feel. It is NOT fine dining, so go and enjoy the atmosphere. more

My first meal at Shaw's was the Coconut Shrimp and Onion rings. The coconut shrimp was much better tasting than that of other restaurants and the dipping sauce was pretty awesome too. My last meal was the Seafood Casarole and I have to admit, that was the most outstanding seafood cassarole I have ever eaten. The sauce was not overwhelming... more

We were very disappointed today. Perhaps it is great for lobsters, but the fried clams had a strong taste, the clam chowder was insubstantial, and the the lettuce in the small salads was old. This is one of the few times that Frommers has led us wrong. We would not return. 8/28/08 more
