We found the reason for their name. Our group of 10 did an aboutface after being groused about the size of group
If you want uncomplicated, basic and good food then this is the place. And when the cook starts to sing with the radio just cover your ears 'cause it's not pretty (but you'll get a really good laugh out of it).
Went to Grumpy's for breakfast. Were told that the wait for food coming out of the kitchen was 30 to 45 minutes. Not all the tables were occupied, so why so long to serve food. The waitress that waited on us was very nice and tried to be as helpful as possible based on the circumstances. One couple that had... More
We were looking for somewhere for breakfast since our campsite had been too rained out to cook anything. We saw the breakfast sign and decided to try. It was a cute little place with a nice view of the bay. We ordered pretty simple breakfast items but the wait was very long. I feel like I could cook for that... More
Normally, I only write about establishments that I've enjoyed and want to share with others. In this case, I'm making an exception because Grumpy's has the most negative vibe -- never mind the longest wait to be served -- of any restaurant I've ever patronized. The cook/owner is loud and abusive to his server staff, so much so that much... More

We had another breakfast here and it was great as always. I had eggs Benedict and they were excellent, the ham different and tasty and the English muffin just right. We've never had a problem here over the years.
The location on the harbor drew us into the restaurant for breakfast -- that was the only good part of the experience. The service was impossibly slow -- I don't think it was the waitstaff as I heard one of them saying there was only one cook and a small grill. The food was mediocre. My husband's hash was burned... A great little hidden away restaurant serving breakfast and lunch. All meals are prepared per order by the owner/chef not coming out of a steam table so sometimes the order might take a little longer but definitely worth it. My wife loved the Eggs Benedict so re-ordered them the next time we returned and found them just as delicious. Be... More
I'm a frequent traveler to Acadia National Park and usually stay at the Seawall Campground. SO GLAD I found this breakfast place. Great location; nice scenery and view from the picnic tables near the dock. Breakfast was fast, filling, hot and pretty yummy. (One suggestion--how about providing real maple syrup for your homemade pancakes?) Our waitress was an incredibly friendly... More
