Great staff. Food average to very good. If you eat in the bar area you cannot have the bar snacks unless you are seated at the bar. Strange rule. Can't order a la carte. Another strange rule. Little changes could make Billy's a great experience. They should sell logo shirts...they would sell them out. more

My family of five went to Billy's over the July 4th holiday. We had lobster stew, steamers, fishermans platter, fried haddock sandwich, clam chowder and kids chicken tenders. I don't know how we ate it all, but we did! It was the best we had ever had. We look forward to our next trip to Wells Beach to go back... more

We vacation in Maine every year for over ten years. We always make it a point to visit Billy's, and this year we left once again very happy. To start, the lobster stew is absolutely delicious, the overflowing salad is always fresh and then the clams are cooked to perfection. Oh and my kids love the chicken fingers. We will... more

Their New England Clam Chowder is one of a kind - no one in the area can touch their recipe - it is savory, full of clams, and creamy without being pasty or starchy, just the right amount of thickness. If you're looking for a sports bar, this is your place - good burgers, wings, appetizers - note, this is... more

As a 'local', we tend to be picky about eating out, but Billy's is a place that we always take visitors. The folks that work there are all kind and cheerful, the food is great and the atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. There's a kids menu and they have the best happy hour and evening bartenders in Maine. You just... more

Billy's is a pleasent eating spot in York County Maine. Being in the southern most county; you can leave Boston, shop in the outlets of Kettery, visit Portland Head Lighthouse, an still have time for a great dinner at Billy's. Eating lobsters, chowders and other Maine treats makes the trip to Wells Beach a fun day for the family. Maine... more

i visited billy's recently and it was one of the best overall restaurant experiences i have had in the states. first off, the food - clearly very high quality, fresh and beautifully prepared. i would rank billy's as easily the best fish and chips i have had this side of the pond (i am originally from the uk), and pretty... more

Every summer we look forward to our trip to Maine and specifically the wonderful meals at Billy's Chowder House. An amazing atmosphere, wonderful waitstaff, and the freshest seafood I've ever come across. My favorites are the lobster stew, lobster roll, or any of the perfectly fried seafood dishes. As an added bonus, the lounge is one of my favorite places... more

The lobster stew is still delicious but I couldn't even find it the serving has become so small! A cup of stew used to be an average size and is still expensive at $8.99 but I could not believe on a recent visit how the cup size was cut in half but the price is the same! I don't even... more

I went back To Billy's after 2 years of not. Had stuffed lobster, it was not split, the stuffing was nothing more than breading, piled on it. The baked potato was a micro wave version. The price was $29.95, when the same size lobster was on special for $15.95, who would think $14 for bread stuffing. Billy's menu claimed many... more
