We're been dining at Chillingsworth for more than two decades, and our most recent trip for their annual champagne tasting dinner was made more memorable by having two of our adult daughters and their spouses with us. With a party of six, we weren't able to secure our favorite room -- the library -- but we were still surrounded by... more

My wife and I had a meal in the Bistro part of the restaurant last weekend. The food was fantastic! I had a classic French bistro meal; duck confit salad followed by "steak frites". Both were like eating at a little cafe in Paris. My wife had the scallops, which were perfectly cooked. I read reviews on this site from... more

The food was great. The rest of the experience was somewhat incestuous to say the least. Pat the owner would patheticly try and re-fill water through the shakes and ask through a tired slur if " everysing was alright ". It was reasonably creepy enough to wonder what kind of quality control was going on in the kitchen if any.... more

We entered the Bistro on a somewhat busy Sunday night and were basically ignored by every staff person in the place. Noone was at the reception desk to seat us or take our names. A woman who appeared to be the hostess came in from the restaurant section, saw us standing around and asked the two of us if we... more

When people are talking to me about the French cuisine I always tell them that actually the Belgians taught the French how to cook. Our experience at Chillingsworth came close to our best experiences in Europe. No speedy, "HI, I'm Jane and I will be your waitress - are you ready to order" but more the "Let's appreciate a great... more

After a year of anticipation, we went to the Chillingsworth Bistro anticipating a meal in line with the reviews. What we received was an experience to forget. The atmosphere was an eclectic mix of ugly furniture and hideous knick knacks...I especially enjoyed my broken, caned dining chair circa 1986. The starting point for the meal was when the server brought... more

What a gorgeous place serviced by stuffy hosts and waitstaff. Without all the unnecessary attitude fluff (which is not apropos for Brewster), this place could be downright perfect. This visit, we only perused the grounds, looked over the menu and met several staff during the process. Next time, depending on the greeting, welcome, etc., we hope to try the dinner,... more

I can't quite put into words how wonderful our dining eperience was at Chiliingsworth. The dining room has a lovely, relaxed, romantic atmosphere, the food was exquisite, and the service impeccable. A dinner at Chillingsworth has become a Cape tradition. more

My wife and I had an unforgettable dinner at Chillingsworth on June 12th (my birthday). It was my birthday and one to remember for a very long time. The service was impeccable, the food was perfectly prepared and tasted divine. I had the Black and White truffle "Mac & Cheese" to start the meal. That's what heaven would taste like.... more

This restaurant does not get enough praise and attention. Cozy atmosphere, extremely friendly and accommodating staff. We ordered appetizers and dinners and all of us were happy with our choices. Highly recommend the lobster pizza! more
