My husband and I wandered in here after a day of hiking, and then checking tripadvisor ratings of local restaurants on our blackberries. This is a zagat rated farm-to-table restaurant offering delicious, tasty food with a very good wine, beer and cider menu to match. We ate at the bar and I had a BBQ sampler with a flight of... more

Went to the Route 7 Grill on a Sunday evening in late July. It was a fine experience. We had the beef ribs and pork ribs; and both were tender and juicy. The side dishes were very good, too. The Grill was half-filled with customers and everyone seemed to be enjoying their meals. The wait staff, both guys and gals,... more

The menu would lead one to believe that this is a place that knows how to cook BBQ.......Not so. They claim that they only smoke their pulled pork and not boil it. I found it to be flavorless and anything but smoked. My wife however, had the calimari and was quite pleased with it. We were seated right away by... more

Route 7 is great! Family friendly, reasonable priced and an all around good find. One of my favs. Having been in the restaurant business for 18+ years, I can be very picky. They have a GREAT beer & wine selection & I appreciate their committment to local ingredients. It's not cheap or easy to do! I highly recommend . more

My husband are here for a long weekend from Vermont and, as always happens when we venture out of the Green Mountain State, we have been dissappointed by the lack of local ingredients used in restaurants. So, we were suspicious when we learned about a BBQ joint that claims to use so many local ingredients - especially at this time... more

We loved this place. Excellent food. The absolute best service. The atmosphere was very relaxed...very comfortable. We thought they were a little on the high side as far as price but we would definitely revisit the next time we are in the area. more

We enjoyed our meal there so much that we returned although we were only in the area 5 nights, and there are many nice restaurants. My husband and I shared a full rack of the baby back ribs with beets and french fries, and a small order of the Guiness braised pot roast with mashed potatoes and swiss chard. The... more

Always festive, R7G has the best margaritas, malbecs, and barbecue. A place for locavores, R7G even makes vegetarians sated--the cuke tomato salads, beets, squash, mustard greens and sweet potato fries are fantastic. In the warmer months, eating on the deck is bucolic and tranquilo. The service, starting w/your host, Lester is always friendly and accommodating. more

There is lots of choice in the Berkshires but this is the best! The salads are special (lots of local produce and great dressings). The main courses are superb, I especially like the barbecue and the steak offerings. My husband prefers fish and rates those choices highly. The sides are so great, it is hard to decide which ones to... more

Along with Elizabeth's in Pittsfield, Route 7 Grill in Great Barrington ties for our favorite family restaurant in the Berkshires. Fantastic comfort food, and even though it's rich and flavorful you don't feel too guilty eating it because of the emphasis on high-quality real farm ingredients, often found locally (no big agribusiness ingredients here, that's for sure). We just ate... more
