We recently ate dinner at the Homeport in Menemsha. The new owners have done a wonderful job of building on an island classic. In addition to hte usual lobster dinners, there were terrific specials. We had the crabmeat gazpacho and cajun swordfish skewers--wonderful! We had our grandchildren with us--so the crayons, childrens cups, wicky sticks and childrens menu were wonderful... more

Hard to find a restaurant in the vineyard that is perfect for both adults and kids. This one worked out great for our entire family. The view is fantastic of old menemsha harbor; one of the coolest working harbors anywhere. And the lobster and mac n cheese were delicious. Really fun. Not cheap, but not over priced. Very cool seafood... more

It has been 35 years since I dined at Homeport. And no, you can't go back. The food was overpriced and not particularly flavorful. The key lime pie was still frozen and missing some of the lime. This is dry town so you can bring your own alcohol to blunt the noise of the screaming children. more

The menu consists of three-course meals which include appetizer, main course, and dessert, for prices ranging from $30 to $45 or so. I chose the twin steamed lobsters, and my wife chose the baked stuffed lobster. We wisely chose the most appealing appetizer, which were the steamed mussels. These were fresh, tender, and in a nice broth which we dunked... more

The restaurant is under new management (the Beach Plum Inn took it over last year) but the food is just as good as always, if not better. Seven of us plus a baby had a wonderful time -- it's noisy enough that the baby could fuss all he wanted and not bother anyone. Unfortunately they were out of mussels and... more

Great clam chowder and stuffed quahogs. You will eat till you are stuffed, but have to finish the meal with pie. more

This used to be a "must visit" for any trip to the Vineyard but -- although the view is just as spectacular -- the food has gone dramatically downhill. Disappointing. more

The food is good, but not outstanding. What is outstanding, is the view from the restaurant, and the atmosphere inside the restaurant. It's a great place for a large family dinner, and equally as nice for a nice two person outing. more

We were suprised and quite disappointed at the slow and unconcerned service at this popular seafood house. The food was only fair and the lobster was tough! At $40. for a ONE lb lobster dinner we expected the food to be at least good if not memorable. They seem to be the only place in town and you can take... more
