I 've been coming to Ptown for over 20 years and used to love this family diner-style restaurant for its no nonsense fish, Portugeuse specialties and low prices. This time, however, the lunch portions were teeny-tiny and the waitress was surly. Sorry not to be returning. more

Adequate. Really enjoyed the omlettes but everything else was ordinary. Hash browns consistently dry and over cooked ever day. Lunches overpriced for what you get. more

Good place for breakfast, but wouldn't reccomend anything complicated outside of an omelette. Servers aren't the best. Dinner has some Portuguese dishes, but its just an average local place to go if you wanna avoid the busier areas. Nothing to get in your car and travel for. Please dont eat the Shrimp Mozambique...you will be extremely disappointed. Noone there is... more

Went there for breakfast - very basic but good. However. I left a cash tip for the waitress ( over 20% ) and went to the cashier to pay and signed my debit card ( leaving no tip ). I looked at my checking account statement on-line the next day and they added in a 20% tip to my receipt... more

I stay just up the street from Tips and have to walk by to get to town which is a problem because I always want to go in to eat. The food is not fancy, just plain home cooking. If you want simple Portuguese food, this is the place. Try the cacoila or the costeleta de porco em vinho de... more

We've eaten several times at Tip for tops'n and i would say that it is a good place for dinner, when you consider their prices. As for breakfast, I am really puzzled by the fact that anybody can even recomemnd them for breakfast. Aside from the fact that it is really small, it is very basic (like: toast - only... more

We stayed close enough to make this place a very easy walk. We both had fish for dinner, mine was crispy fried sole (a lot!) with Portuguese sauce, jalepenos, hot red pepper, onion and vinegar. It was super. My husband had fish in a tomato sauce, also outstanding. Our dinner, with a bottle of vino verde and a shared hot... more

We always eat at Tips for Tops when we're in Ptown. Good food, FAST friendly service, and a cozy atmosphere all make this a great place to eat. The kale soup is terrific. Breakfast is served until mid afternoon, a plus after those drunken nights and sleeping in late. Avoid the hustle of Commercial St. and take the short walk... more
