Stopped in here by chance, just to escape the rain. This place is wonderful. Very friendly staff, absolutely delicious pastries, and good coffee. Very good Strudel at Helmuts, maybe the 2nd best in New England. Out Door Seating is absolutely fabulous. When in Rockport stop by for a great dessart. more
After reading the reviews on this site, I absolutely insisted to my husband that we stop at Helmut's for some strudel. I knew that the strudel was supposed to be out of this world, but what I didn't know is that they also make magnificent stuffed savory crossaints, which made the perfect lunch. When we want strudel, we drive to Rockport (we live in NY) and go straight to Helmut's. They have the best strudel--flaky, fresh and hot. My favorite is apple, my partner loves cherry. (Note: cherry is seasonal and is not available year-round). They have other pastries, too, and it's all good. more
Helmut's Strudel has a cozy deck in back and is one of the nicest places to go to for coffee and pastry. Unpretentious, dogs are welcome to sit outside and you get what you pay for. The chocolate croissants are wonderful and so is the apple strudel. I go there a lot and have never been disappointed. more
Helmut's Strudel is the most wonderful strudel I've ever tasted in my life! I would travel many miles for it. As I said, I'm allergic to wheat but for this outstanding culinary delight, I'll suffer the consequences. It's that good! more
Definitely a must-go if you visit Rockport, MA. Right near Motif No.1. Warm apple strudel with ice cream...big enough to share. more
The strudel is a "must-try" while visiting Rockport. We tried cherry and apple and couldn't decide between us which was best. Will have to return tomorrow for "more data" and another attempt at deciding! Coffee was very good, too. more
