I go three times a week. Big salads with fresh berries, grilled chicken (real chicken! Not fake weirdo pressed chicken) added for a buck. Great iced tea! Burgers are terrible, but some of the wraps and sandwiches are good. For the salads alone, this is almost the best place in town, hands down. more

Cafe American is the best spot in town. Family-owned and run, with homemade soups, salad dressings and occasional Greek food from their family recipes. The Halle Berry salad is the best salad I've ever had. Crab bisque, seafood gumbo, tomato bisque, etc.--all wonderful! Sandwiches are terrific. Daily wrap special. Homemade baklava. The Cafe American is a very popular lunch location in Midland. One reason is its close proximity to Dow Chemical. However I believe a more important reason is the wide variety of soup, salad and sandwich options on the menu and the high quality of all the selections.
