my favorite is the lamb shwarma. I highly recommend this restaurant. service isgreat and the ambiance is very appealing
I have been to this place from the old days of it being La Shish. The prior management many years ago sold the place with rights to keep the food and menus the same. This is easily the best Middle Eastern food in Michigan. Why? Well, you will notice MANY Middle Eastern joints around the area opening and closing, because... More
I had been there multiple times. the food was authentic and very good. the decor of the restaurant is also good.
The food is consistent from place to place. The bread is always warm and fresh and the meal portions are generous. Parking is a snap and the interior is both comfortable and cosy. Staff, on the other hand can vary. last time I had a whiny Eastern European serve me but overall it's a great alternative to burgers or hot... More
I think this is the best Mediterranean food even better than al ameer in Dearborn. The shish kabob med rare is always perfect.
The food here is very good. Excellent flavor in the hummus. Love the Chicken Shish Tawook. Ambience is average but the service is exemplary. Very friendly. Take out is convenient and always hot when I get it home. This is not a cheap meal though. Less expensive but still good (not as good) would be to go to Ali Baba... More
In truth, I have had better Middle Eastern food, but La Marsa has very tasty dishes at excellent prices. Family favorites are the grilled chicken and hummus, mixed grill, and an Egyptian noodle dish. Atmosphere is more than nice given the style of restaurant, and service is always excellent.
It has been 16 years since I saw the earlier incarnation of this restaurant on TV. Have been back every year, each time with a larger group of people. The garlic toum is worth traveling from NJ and the lemonade is the best thing I've ever had to drink.
We recently catered a small party from La Marsa in Troy. From the first conversation with Mr. Tadesse (manager), I was impressed. We were able to come up with a fabulous menu within my budget. Everything was delicious, probably one of the top Middle Eastern meals we’ve ever had. The best dish was the chicken and lamb schwarma- very flavorful... More
we regularly get carry-outs from la marsa, but we did a sit down with friends this past wwek-end, and i forgot how great the atmosphere was, and how personable the staff is. there is not a bad dish on the menu, fresh squeezed fruit and veggie drinks, fantastic hot bread with garlic butter, the list goes on and on.
