So much to like: location, energy, creativity, menu, service and taste. Went on our 25th anniversary weekend in MPLS. Careful balance of sweet, sour, bitter, salt and heat. Came through on the: sweet and sour crab salad (healthy amounts of crab) and halibut with mango salad. Tres leche cake: best ever. Roast parsnips served on onion/parmasean puree: very good side.... more

Score: 12/20 (GOOD). A local favourite. Friendly service, excellent value and good food. Sauteed sweetbread was close to perfectly cooked with silky soft texture inside and almost crisp outside. The mild taste suggest thymus sweetbread and was at risk of being overpowered by the combination of porcini and clam sauce. Scallops with oyster mushrooms were an odd pair in their... more

On the heels of very high ratings, 112 was on my radar during our visit to the Twin Cities to see the PGA Championship. Booked solid all week, we were encouraged to come out and sit at the bar, which we did and found to be very comfortable. Everything is a la carte, which could cause overall price to get... more

I ate here with my young daughter 8/2009. Small place, maybe 15 or 20 tables. Quiet and intimate. I had the scallop on calamari appetizer - it went beyond my expectations. The scallops melted in my mouth and the calamari was unbreaded (it almost looked like a vegetable of some sort) and was unlike any calamari I've ever had -... more

Solo dining at the very small bar at the 112 Eatery. Good food and OK service, but VERY limited a la carte menu. They kept the music loud, never a good sign for me; I much prefer the noise of people eating/talking. This place is truly overpriced for the size of the portions you get. Since I was hungry after... more

We dined there on June 17, two couples ordering a variety of entrees and salads. The waiter (Marcus?) was well informed on the offerings, some of them rather eclectic. We've dined all over the city and this is was a good experience--except for the background music. 'Way too loud and the manager was not interested in bringing it down, despite... more

It's an eye-opening and whimsical experience of flavors without breaking the bank. I've been there too many times to list all my samplings. The chef is someone who first and foremost enjoys cooking, and you can taste it in the food. There's always a twist on classic flavor combinations--greek-inspired fish using cilantro instead of parsley, butterscotch pudding garnished with a... more

Good, but I didn't find that it lived up to the hype. The tartare was VERY good, though. more
