If you go, be prepared with sufficient conversational or reading material. The decor is a converted older home with antique ( some would say old) furnishings. The food is passable and the staff, while pleasant enough, is quite incompetent. We arrived on a Saturday about 11 am. and were seated promptly next to a table of four ladies reviewing menus.... more

We were glad that we tried this place while we were here in Reno. It's very unique and feels like something that would be in the country. The restaurant is in an older house with an awesome patio. We walked into the front door which was wide open and there were kids in the kitchen drawing at the table. We... more

I was in town in March 2009 for a convention and a personal vacation with a friend. We decided to give this restaurant a try after reading the reviews here on this site. We were blown away. Great food and the waitress (a daughter) even gave us a historical explanation of the dish we ordered when we asked about it's... more

My new husband and I ate here and enjoyed the limited but seasonal menu. I had an amazing turkey pannini with great cheese and cranberry sauce. Unusual but delicious. The hubby had a pork stew that was awesome. Don't miss this cute little restaurant in Reno. more

My husband, son and I were looking for a new and unique place to have breakfast when my husband said that he had seen this restaurant on his way to work. We went on a Sunday morning and were pleasantly surprised by the cute "house/antique" atmosphere. We were unpleasantly surprised by the length of time we had to wait for... more

Management response from
barb giacomini, owner/chef/mother

I've decided to publicly respond to comments made by katahi1, since her assessment of our restaurant was made so publicly. My daughters and I take great pride in serving our family food and rarely encounter complaints. We WERE having trouble with our stoves on the Sunday this family ate here. As a result, a six-minute Dutch Baby breakfast took 12...

The best place in Reno for breakfast, lunch, or Sunday Brunch! We always make this restaurant a priority when we drive up from southern California. The menu changes on a regular basis so you can keep coming back to try all the interesting and creative dishes. I only wish I lived closer. I would eat here every week! You can... more

This café has it all – delicious and always updated food (think of international and seasonal treats that stretch your culinary imagination - and are somehow comfortingly familiar too) -- cheerful and friendly service (think of a place "where everybody knows your name") -- and charming ambiance (think family portraits and keepsakes as décor). The setting, a hundred-year old restored... more

My Mother, Aunt, Neice and I go before every show at the Pioneer Theatre! None of us have had a meal to speak poorly of thus far. The menu changes every two weeks or so. It's great, because you get to try something new each time. Last time I had the BEST Beef Bourguignon ever! Their Pigs in a Poke... more

A sad occasion brought my family to Reno - my mom had passed away unexpectedly. Daughter's Cafe was one of her favorite places. My stepdad wanted us (daughters, spouses and a grandaughter) to experience Reno through my mom's eyes, so he brought us here. My mom had found a gem. Now we have too. The restaurant is run by a... more

97 Bell Street - located on the Southwest corner at the intersection of 1st/Bell Street. Barb, Bianca & Sky have done an outstanding job at renovating just enough to keep the ambiance of the historical home (built in 1902) while providing a clean, quaint and friendly atmosphere. There isn't a better place to stop in for one of three coffee... more
