We went here three times during a week in Sparks. Sat at the bar. Sampled several different beers all interesting. Food was good but not over the top. The locals were great to talk to. The bartenders were friendly, gave us tastes of beers and provided excellent service. I highly recommend this to people into beer. more
We are beer heads from back east (Philadelphia) and are pretty snotty about our brews. We went to Great Basin twice and were not disappointed. Their 'Icky' IPA was a top notch American IPA that any hophead would sing for. Great Basin has excellent beer -- get "Icky" (Ichthyosaur Pale Ale) if you like hops, and try a taste of the "Chilibeso" if it's on tap -- with solid upscale pub grub such as a Wisconsin-style beer, cheese and sausage soup.
