I've had friends tell me to try it and I finally did. This place has one of the best, if not the best, breakfasts in Portsmouth. It has THE WORST COFFEE in a town full of coffee houses! Get the juice or milk and pass on the coffee! more

I love the Golden Egg! Good food; it's worth going just for the HUGE variety of dishes available, from blueberry pancakes all the way down to wonderful omelettes and a wide selection of eggs benedict variations. The Golden Egg is by far the best breakfast place there is. They have a diverse menu with lots of homemade pastries, muffins and breads and great specials everyday. I have also had occasion to dine for lunch and lunch is also great but I admit I go there most often for breakfast even at lunchtime. more

I grew up in Portsmouth and to my disappointment now live in a town without the kind of fantastic breakfast place that the Golden Egg is.
