My wife & I dined at the restaurant last Saturday nite (Sept/2009) and had 6 awesome plates. Presentation and taste - A+, Price (~ $75 without the tip) - A+, and atmosphere an A+. Will we go back - absolutely. Probably will invite another couple of friends to enjoy such a surprise treat with us.... more

We have been going to Beach Haven for years and have been to Sweet Vidalia often so I thought it was time time to write a review. I was disturbed to read the last few reviews and wondered if with the summer turnover (wait staff is leaving to return to university) there was a bit of confusion and frustration for... more

The food was quite good, but was far outshined by the manager who also served as our waiter. His behavior bordered on verbal harassment, not someone who should be working in customer service. This restaurant will not survive if they do not find new management. more

I would have given one star if not for the fact that the food was good. We had the worst service I have ever experienced. (This is from a person who has worked as a waitress for 7 years and is highly tolerant of bad servers.) The table shared the shrimp and leek fondue and we all enjoyed this dish.... more

Our bill came to $300 for the five of us which would have been fine if the food was worth it even in the slightest...the veal was wrapped in so much bacon you couldn't taste the meat, the lamb felt like rubber, the risotto was both over AND under cooked and every single dessert seemed to be pre-packaged with little... more

This restaurant was wonderful ! They must have improved the quality since summer 2008 because those reviews do not do this restaurant justice. Tapas is wonderful for those who want "a taste" of everything. Also, the quality is very good. The fact that's this restaurant is a BYOB is a bonus because it keeps the cost down. for $ 50/couple... more

i was so excited, because i love tapas, but this missed the mark completely. decor was shabby - gordon ramsey kitchen nightmares would have had a field day. food was sub par, service was awful - waited over 45 mins between plates - and its tapas, not like your are getting a hefty plate to linger over. dishes came missing... more

Vidalia switched to a tappas concept this year and we found it a positive change from the local cuisine. There are small dishes and somewhat larger offerings (but still smaller than normal meals). While the actual number of selections is lower than other tappas type restaurants we've eaten at, the selections are generally interesting and were quite good. The scallops... more

We have been hoping to try the tapas menu here after enjoying their regular menu in the past and this past weekend we corralled another couple and tackled the menu. There is an explanation of tapas on the menu, but basically this restaurant is for those who like sharing and combining dishes. We were a party of 4 and our... more

I have been vacationing in Beach Haven since I was a small child, so as a "foodie" I was very pleased when Sweet Vidalia opened - it was the first of several "fine dining" options to open in Beach Haven over the past 10 years - a welcome alternative to the good, but unexciting options in the past. My mother... more
