We had dinner at the Washington Inn for our Anniversary. The food was good but not excellent. The appetizer I had was crab cake which was very good also my husband had escargot which was good not excellent. My main dish was shrimp, scallops and crab meat. The shrimp had a very iodine tast. They gave us a free desert... more

It's all true! Began our night at the bar, with the awesome bartender, (Marty)...you must have the pomegranate martini! It was fabulous. On to dinner: The crab cakes melted in your mouth, the goat cheese tart was unreal...the main course, Halibut, was quite possibly the BEST seafood dish I have ever eaten anywhere, and I eat a lot of seafood.... more

the washington inn is hands down the classiest place to eat in cape may. the atmosphere and service can not be matched and the wine list is the most extensive in south jersey. the menu is somewhat limited but executed well. while other restaurants in cape may might have slightly stronger food, the washington inn is the best overall dining... more

When we booked our reservation, the receptionist had the kitchen save me 2 of the soft shelled crabs. This was a nice touch. We were shown promptly to a lovely table and our server was pleasant & efficient. My fennel-crusted scallops over risotto were superb, the soft shells less so as they were deep fried in a cornmeal coating, while... more

What a wonderful restaurant! We had to eat early (5 pm) because they were booked solid all night, but it was worth eating early in order to eat here. Make sure you go early and have a drink at the bar. I had a Grey Goose L'Orange Cosmopolitan (recommended by a Washington Inn fanatic) that was superb. My husband had... more

Still a favorite of ours. Atmosphere was nice, service great and Food was delicious. I had the risotto, best ever. My wife had the fish. She loved it. The only thing is I wouldn't get the chocolate tower again. more

The husband and I dined at the Washington Inn over my birthday weekend getaway (October 2007). Fabulous dinner, but the dessert - we both still dream about it!! We keep trying to justify a four hour r/t drive to return JUST for the Chocolate Tower. The night we went to the Washington Inn, halfway through our meal, the power went... more

We eat an average tasting meal with a very high price. Service was not so hot. Vallet drivers drive cars in a crazy and speedy manner. Not worth the price for the quality or the risk to vehicle. more

My husband and I celebrated our 20th anniversary at the Washington Inn this past November. The food, service and ambiance hasn't changed one bit. We loved every moment of our celebration - will be back next year for our 21st!!!! more

Have been coming here once a year for our Anniversary dinners. Menu is getting stale (exactly the same special appetizer and entree as the last anniversary a year ago????). Steaks were just so-so, I have had better cuts from the local butcher shop. Their service is fine, but why no decanting of my $250 bottle of wine? No sommelier either?... more
