A short drive out of town on the back road to Wildwood, this very nice restaurant sits among the fishing docks. Axelsson's Blue Claw Restaurant is terrific. We had dinner there on 8/31/2007. The food and service were terrific! The restaurant, was busy but quiet. Service was very friendly and accomodating. The seafood was wonderful. Axelsson's is not open every day in the fall so be sure to check their schedule but we had a great dinner. more

Average (but very expensive) seafood place on the highway between Cape May and Wildwood. We were staying in Cape May and this was not worth the drive, particularly since there are so many great places to eat in Cape May itself. more

Oh what can I say about the oysters that I had at the Blue Claw??? ... topped with sour cream, caviar, a dash of vodka and a squeeze of lemon. I can always count on the Blue Claw for decent meal and decent service. No, it's not outstanding, but it does stand out in Cape May because none of the restaurants is outstanding.
