Following good feedback from TripAdvisor, we tried Jerry's Cafe; we were not disappointed. The food and service were excellent; the only thing missing was the opportunity to pair our dinner with a cold beer. The sopaipillas were the best we had in New Mexico. A low-key local place without any frills, but offering warm service and a great meal. more

The green sauce on cheese enchiladas was exceptionally good. The rice and beans were a bit dry. Sopapillas were a bit thick and chewy. Would we return? Absolutely! Highly recommended! A small, unpretentious place with great food that’s not fancy just real tasty. The stuffed sopapillas are terrific. Staff is friendly and very efficient. You won’t leave hungry. Eat here instead of the chain restaurants by the highway and you won’t be sorry. Local Native-American jewelry sellers walk by your table with their wares. more

We had a wonderful meal with fresh local recipes and tasty food. This is a great example of diner food taken to the top level. Green chile is amazing. more

We dined here on 3/20/09, based largely upon the TripAdvisor reviews and ease of locating the restaurant. It was a Friday evening, approx. 6 p.m. There was a line of about 8 people outside the door (there is no where to stand indoors). We almost left because every table was full and we had a long drive ahead of us... more

Serves THE BEST New Mexican food in Gallup, NM or anywhere else!! Every item on the menu is good. The chili is mildly hot however the green chili is tastier than the red chili. Friendly service in a down home eatery that is filled with locals. The sopapillas are outstanding. The red and green sauces richly flavorful. Can be crowded and there is little to no waiting area. It's crowded because it's so good! more
