Stopped by for a quick lunch while visiting the National Baseball Hall of Fame. This is conveniently located two blocks away. Food was good, moderately priced. Service was excellent for a cafe. Members of my party had the grilled chicken sandwich, fried haddock sandwich and hummus wrap. All were good and fairly priced. more

My dad and I made a trek to the baseball hall of fame in April 2009. after touring the hall, we wanted to grab some lunch and asked a worker there where was a good local place to go... he immediately answered the Doubleday... The food was great, but what I remember the most was a homemade lemonade tea they... more

We enjoyed our lunch at the Doubleday Cafe. The sandwiches were well crafted and the curly fries were delicious. The beer selection was delightful, including the local Ommegang brews. Lots of baseball fans, big screen TVs, and very pleasant atmosphere. Reasonably priced and efficient. more

We were in Cooperstown for the Field of Dreams in early June 2009 and we ate at this restaurant at least 4 times.... very nice service - server remembered what we liked and the food was good and came hot. Liked everything tht we ordered and they have a good local beer. I would recommend this for sure... good value....... more

Not bad, not bad. Lines out the door waiting to be seated. Plenty of options on the menu, all basic. Seems like it would be a great breakfast place. Service was not overly attentive. They serve alcohol. A few too many kids for my pleasure. more

I've been coming to Cooperstown every September for the last 5 years. One of the must stop places to visit is the Doubleday. It's more crowded at some times than others, as is every other place in town. But the people who work there are always friendly and helpful, if sometimes overly busy, the food is always very good, and... more

The food at Doubleday is good, and I was happy to see a decent selection of vegetarian options. The portions were good sized, so we didn't leave hungry, and they serve local beers brewed here in Cooperstown. I feel I should point out that some of the regular diners of the Doubleday gave us the stink eye, which made me... more

During our week in Cooperstown we ate in a number of restaurants, most of which had expensive and/or poor quality food offerings. Doubleday Cafe was a noticeable exception. Food was great--loved the burgers, wife loved the soup--and price fit our budget more

We'd traveled all week and I was really tired of over-rated and over-priced food. We stopped in for lunch during our trip and went back for dinner. I could see where the service could be iffy, but our service was fine both times. Lunch for me was grilled cheese and homemade tomato basil soup (yum). My husband had an open... more
