Whenever I come home to Elmira, I make sure to visit the Palms. The service is always friendly and accommodating, and the dishes I order are consistently tasty. I usually choose the Fetucinni Alfredo or the Shrump Florentine. Portions are very large (enough for two meals- I usally take half home!) and very very good. The atmosphere is very old... more

After having this restaurant recommended to us, and being a couple that does not mind spending big bucks for a dining experience....we were so disappointed in this place. Most importantly, THE CHEF IS SO INCREDIBLY UNACCOMODATING. don't even think of asking for any type of change to his menu. I'm not sure if he is an egomaniac or what, but... more

We had the signature scampi which we liked, since they were perfectly breaded, so you could still taste the scampi which was a nice surprise. We also had the stuffed pork which had a somehow funny taste but an interesting and tasty topping. The sides (spaghetti resp. green beans) were disappointing since they were cooked nicely but drowned to death... more

Although the wait staff was good it would be nice if the "cook" could be a little more accomidating to the customers. To vary the way a particular dish is cooked to help out an elderly person would have been nice. Will I go back? Never. Another one bites the dust! more
