We had a 1/2 off entree coupon so decided to try this place out. The food was marginal, nothing even requiring a review. Very good, quick service, and a great price. After having a few misses when it comes to selecting restaurants on the past few trips, this is a hidden gem. The food was good and quite authentic at very reasonable prices. Our family (3 boys under 5, and 2 adults), had a great time. We would recommend this as a good... more
Service was fast and friendly - Food was the usual Mexican fare only served in a nicer manner. My family really like it and I had teens and an 8 -year old so I would say an all around family favorite of our trip. more
I was skeptical to head here for Mexican food one night because of the mixed reviews found on multiple websites. The food was actually quite authentic, especially for a beach town. The prices are very reasonable and alcohol is cheap -- go for the margaritas. more
I am from El Paso Texas, I have tasted the best Mexican food and the worst. This is definately one of the best. The Enchilada style burrito is very good. more
We just ate lunch at El Zarape. 12/30/08. Blackboard as we went in showed "Specials..Bud or Bud Light Draft...$.99. When we got our bill...the two we ordered were $2.00 each. When we questioned the price, we were told that that was the price yesterday and they removed it from the board then....but we had to pay the $2.00 each and... more
We come to Carolina Beach often and when we get tired of Calabash-style seafood (deep fried), we love to go here for Mexican food. Everything we have had there is great. The sangria's were nice. Lots of vegetarian choices (if you like beans and cheese!). Plenty of variety. Excellent value. Nice atmosphere. more
