We ate here one day in July 2013 and it was unimpressive, at best. With so many other choices around, we were sorry we stopped and dined at The Armadillo Grill. Don't bother.
Don't mess with Texas is a famous advertising litter campaign and this place serves garbage. My burrito was mostly pinto bean paste with hardly any cheese or chicken on it. If I wanted lettuce or pic de gallo or other toppings, I was going to be charged extra. There are other burrito places that don't charge this. Besides, your get... More
I am surprised that other reviewers are saying this place is great for kids...I grew up in the Chapel Hill/Carrboro area, and this is the place where we would meet a person we were too embarrassed to bring home, grab a bite and have car sex in the restaurant's gravel parking lot across the street. Therefore, I would not recommend... More
This is a fast restaurant - you come in and mark your order on a pad, hand it to the check out person, go get your drinks, find a seat, and wait for your name to be called. In winter try NOT to sit in line with the front door! COLD air coming in every time folks enter. The food... More
Great place for families, students and senior citizens. Laid back atmosphere with friendly staff. Bluegrass music on Tuesdays is a great attraction, too. For adults, there is a bar upstairs and also seating with tables outside for warm weather dining. Casual dress is the rule. Food good and inexpensive.
"The 'dillo" is my go to place for lunch when I'm having a bad day, for a fast bite to eat when I don't want to cook, a great place to bring a gaggle of kids....I love it so much my son gave me a home made gift certificate to the 'dillo for my birthday. Nice outside seating...the bar is... More

Cheap, quick, and delicious, the Armadillo Grill is a great stop. It's easy to get in and out quickly with a variety of Mexican food and cheap prices. The shops near it are cute also!
The food is inexpensive with friendly service. The real draw for us is the free bluegrass jam every Tuesday night starting around 7pm in the bar, featuring the awesome Big Fat Gap band!
