We've been here several times and still no consensus on the Smokehouse.( kinda slim pickins in the area ) The pork is finely chopped, VERY smoky and no other taste. Slaw has mayo and is runny, sauces are good. I've been known to drive a ways for Barbeque and I just don't like it. Pretty inconsistent too, sometimes hot and... more

The sweet tea was okay, but the food was an absolute slap-in-the-face joke! The brunswick stew was like vegetable soup with Campbell's tomato soup poured in with it. The blandest stuff you'll ever taste. Barbecue is supposed to be smoked, right? Not there. The chicken had been stewed whole and the bones were crumbling. The chicken was bone dry and... more

We just left this restaurant and the food was so bad I had to write this review right away. We tried the pulled pork sandwich and received such finely chopped pork I can't be sure it was. The cole slaw to put on the sandwich was served on the side and even spread thin was not enough to cover the... more

Brunswick stew ( an inult to the name) tastes of pure ketchup. B.B.Q. (again an insult to the name) dry and flavorless. Not impressed at all sampled the chopped pork and the sliced beef neither one awoke a single tastebud. Sauces on the table none of which tasted homemade really just covered up the dryness of the meat. Waste of... more

This place is very hit-or-miss. We have had some very good meals here, but our most recent experience was downright terrible. My best advice is to drive by and if the restaurant isn't full of people, keep right on driving. Friday and Saturday nights are probably your best bet. When they have a full house, the food is fresh, hot,... more

I first discovered the Smoke House about five years ago and it remains one of my favorite restaurants in the area. My first two years of college I was here almost every single week for dinner. I've tried everything from the pulled chicken (and pulled chicken sandwich) to the ham, chopped and sliced pork, chicken breast, muddy rice, yam patties,... more

We ate here on Sunday, November 25 for lunch. I had BBQ pork plate with fries and "muddy rice", a combination of rice and brunswick stew. My wife had a BBQ sandwich & fries. Daughter had chicken finger dinner with fries, and son had baby back ribs & fries. We all agreed the food was jsut right and there was... more

My wife and I ate here after our train trip to Bryson City, N.C. and back. We were pleasantly surprised. My wife loved the ribs while I enjoyed the barbecue. The sides were great, especially the thick cut fries which were cooked to perfection. The staff was friendly and attentive. There was a good selection of sauces on the table.... more

very friendly staff in this warm smokey oasis. all the movie crews come to visit when filming nearby. they have left posters and autographs behind. tangy bbq. excellent sauces. not much parking and the front door is literally three feet off the street so don't even think of parking curbside as it's about all you can do to walk out... more
