OK. So I've been in Durham for a couple weeks and have finally had my eyes opened and my taste buds sent into euphoria at the first nibble of a Guglhupf Bretzel. The rolls, bretzels, breads, fruit torte and chocolate danish have all been delectable. This was only my first visit but certainly won't be my last. I'll be stocking... more
We met friends at the Guglhupf for dinner over the weekend and it is a real find. It gets it's name from the bakery that is at the front of the establishment. This place is a real find. great coffee and homemade pastries and a lovely indoor/outdoor patio. They have just started serving dinner and I had the best short ribs of my life. more

I started coming to Guglhupf when it was a bakery. The expansion to the restaurant was fabulous, with fun, exciting but simple dishes. The bakery is still amazing, an oasis of european culture in the south. more
Most things I've had here have been fantastic, especially the soups. more
Only gave it 4 starts because the nicoise salad I ordered came so cold it seemed like it had been in the freezer. But everything else looks amazing, and the bakery and shop are to die for. more
