We were looking for something on the fancier side this trip to OBX. We tried the Flying Fish and loved it. An inventive menu full of local fish. Some interesting mixed drink specials and a wine list that was all over the place. I would go back in a heartbeat. Do save room for dessert if you go. They are... more

This is one of the smaller dining establishments on the OBX, but that's what we were looking for. It isn't much to look at from the outside, but it does have a nice atmosphere on the inside. Although it was very busy, it was relatively quiet due to the number of couples and small groups there; however, there were a... more

The first day of vacation in Nags Head I picked up a coupon book, and in it was a $12.00 off a bottle of wine for the Flying Fish Cafe. I was happy to find such a great deal, and so my family (4 adults) decided we'd give it a try. The outside of the building is completely misleading, a... more

Went while on vacation, late night about 20 minutes before closing. I was suprised with the quality of food that late. My wife got the filet Mignon and I got the rack of lamb both were cooked to perfection. Curb appeal is not there; needs some attention but it was a nice little escape from the norm. Worth every $$. more

Seven of us went for dinner to this small cosy restaurant, on a Thursday night. We all agreed our food was delicious. Not the usual fried fast food of this area. The steaks were juicey and tender, the fish fresh and the desserts heavenly. The staff was attentive and efficient. We highly recommend this restauant. more

Visited twice this season, 7/26 and 7/29. Great, small restaurant, not noisy like so many. The calamari was tender and sweet. The seared tuna appetizer was done just right, with a tasty wasabi soy sauce. We highly recommend the curry-mustard dressing on the house salad. Our entrees on Sunday were grouper and sea bass. Both were presented very well, but... more

Started off by trying to make reservations for the night. I called once and was hung up on, then tried again and was put on hold for 10 minutes while they "changed phones" until I was once again hung up on. I figured maybe they were just busy, no big deal, we will just head there anyway. We get there... more

We were in the Outer Banks of NC last week and decided to dine here because it was close to where we were staying. The food was superb, We are originally from NYC and we've eaten at some of the highest priced restaurants there. Whether or not you believe you are getting value is rather subjective, therefore I only rated... more
