After trying many restaurants multiple times in 22 years of coming to OBX, this is the best restaurant for great food and reasonable prices. Even the wine is very reasonably priced. I highly recommend it. It is not a typical beach restaurant, just a good restaurant with great service. more

I started eating here on Outer Banks trips about 15 years ago. Back then, the place was more out of the way and there were few tourists. It was hard to keep a place with such god food and reasonable prices a secret, so there are more tourists there now, but locals still flock there. The food is very good... more

We always visit the Colington Cafe at least once when we visit the Outer Banks. September 10 was no exception. Our party of five had five different dinner selections, all of which were excellent. And the Mixed Berry Cobbler was out of this world. The service was excellent as well. more

The cafe is the typical beach resort the dinner was cold and the service rotten. For the price I was expecting a little better dining experience. At least the food should be served at a warmer temp. more

Definately off the beaten path from the beach. A very pleasant location surrounded by trees, looked to be an old home at one time. It is a very busy place popular with the locals and much repeat business from seasonal visitors. Good wine list, great menu, we enjoyed our meal here very much. The seating is a little cramped but... more

It has been many years since we have been at the Cafe and I have forgotten about how quaint the restaurant is, how pleasant the staff is and how wonderful the food is! I recommend any of the specials that are offered -we had the baked risotto appetizer and tile fish dinner and then finished off our meal with the... more

The best. Nothing else to be said. Excellent appy's and dinners. Went there with 8 adults and we all had somthing different and were all great. Big drawback was they ran out of she-crab bisque soup, which is suppose to be great. Upper moderate prices, but worth it. All folks that work there were nice and pleasant. more

I just got married on Aug. 1 and someone had suggested to my now wife that if we go anywhere while in the OBX, it has to be this place...and boy I am glad we took that suggestion. We spent went to the Colington Cafe on our last night there (Aug. 5) and it truly was a pleasure. The atmosphere... more

The reviews on this page suggest Collington Cafe is an exceptional restaurant. I dined there last night, and that's simply not true. To be sure, Collington Cafe has some very good traits. Among them are its physical structure, intimate setting, and she-crab bisque. With that said, Collington's menu is drab. I had a special, off-the-menu appetizer -- a lump crab... more

After reading all the reviews about the Colington Cafe, my family of four went there for dinner on our trip to the Outerbanks. The restaurant is hidden off the beaten path which makes it perfect. You drive up to a very pretty house with large trees. When we walked, it was like walking into someone's house. Each room was decorated... more
