Good sushi costs more, but it's generally worth it. Unlike those conveyor belt sushi belt places, at real sushi restaurants like this one you get sushi prepared fresh guaranteed. You know it hasn't been spinning on the conveyor belt for 4 hours. Excellent variety of sushi. more
Kanpai is Bend's best place to get expertly prepared sushi. The fish is always fresh and the rice perfect. Dining can be tight at times and somewhat loud, but overall a good experience. more
Bend's noted restaurant scene was missing a truly great, big-city-quality sushi restaurant before Kanpai came to town. Table service can be spotty in both friendliness and speed, so sit at the bar, where you'll get better attention and "treats" from the sushi chefs. Asian fusion cuisine. Limited seating gets busy really quick. Staff are attentive locals. Inspired sushi rolls. more
