Great Le Pigeon burger (think it's beef!). Young, hip crowd. Great atmosphere, great food. 'Nuff said.
This is a delightful, small restaurant in downtown Portland. The bread and butter served with the meal was wonderful. The butter tasted like butter you get in Paris. I had the beet tort, which was an amazing mixture of a tort, perfectly flavored beets, and lettuce. I didn't even want to talk to anyone while I was eating it. Then... More
While I agree with some of the raves I've found here at TA about Le Petit Oiseau (the name on the door), I think they may set up an unrealistic expectation that would lead to some disappointment. It is not the apotheosis of French bistro-osity sprung miraculously into the bland canyons of downtown Portland. And I'm pretty sure that was... More
We ate at this French Bistro recently and enjoyed a nice meal featuring a Cassoulet that was very tasty and hearty. We of course shared some very good french cheeses along with some nice red wine. The service was very good and the atmosphere of the restaurant was busy with happy and satisfied customers. I would recommend this restaurant.
Wife and I met daughter and son-in-law for lunch late last summer. Reviews I'd read (TA and newspaper) had been extremely positive, so we were very hopeful. No worry. Everything was as good or better than expected. Seated promptly (reservation), waiter explained menu and we made our choices. Le Pigeon burgers, grilled ham and cheese, caesar salad. Nice bottle of... More
tres charmante - larger than le Pigeon and more traditional French menu - lovely simple decor, amazing meals - the coq au vin is superior to anything I've had minus maybe my French grandmother's very own coveted recipe! A must and a must reserve early!
it lived up to the hype! I was worried that I would be swayed (either way) by all the buzz. We couldn't get in on Saturday, but were able to get a table at 8. Kind of tight corners, but that didn't matter to us because being the friendly gals we are, made friends on both sides of our table.... More
I have read a million positive reviews of "Little Bird:and looked forward to it, but if I thought about returning, my reaction is less than sure. Ate there at lunch. The room is gorgeous and trendy, the service good, the wine selection and pour - good and honest, but the food left me kind of quizzical about a second shot... More
I had a fabulous lunch here with a friend. Fresh ingredients, a menu designed for people who love to try new things or a new twist on old things, and a clean and modern ambience are features, but there's a high price for it all. Worth it if you are really into a gourmet experience.
